We love this stage!

I just thought this face went perfect with what his shirt says :) It's from my twin brothers.

First experience in the swing and loving it! He is wearing Tyler's hat so his hairless head didn't get burned.

Gotta love those chubby cheeks!!!

So these last few weeks have been getting better and better. Tayden is sleeping much better. Last night he slept for 7 straight hours! It was heaven! He has started to become more of a little person instead of a baby that just lays there. He is so much more active. He can now roll all over the place (front to back and back to front). I will put him on his stomach, leave the room for 10 seconds, and come back to find him on his back. :) He has started to make new noises, like growling and squeaking. He loves to talk to us and tell us all about how his day was (sometimes he talks with me more than Tyler does :) He has also reached the stage where he is starting to grab at everything. I often get my hair and necklaces pulled, but I'm just glad his coordination is coming along. He has also found that he loves grabbing his toes and feet. He is starting to become ticklish and he now giggles when we give him zorberts/raspberries. It is too much fun! He is even starting to enjoy peekaboo. He is just getting tons more fun!

He even helps me fold laundry. I lay him on the bed with the laundry near his head. He will grab a piece and pull it over his head. I grab it off of him (peekaboo), fold it, and wait for the next one. I never thought I would enjoy folding laundry this much.

He is starting to develop such a strong personality too. The other day I told him that he was adorable and he rolled his eyes at me! Oh boy! Dad...it's payback for all the times I did it to you...sorry ;)

We put him in the swing at the playground for the first time the other day and he absolutely loved it! He would giggle and makes funny noises. Sometimes when he came forward he would open his mouth and stick out his tongue like he was trying to catch a bug. He is all the entertainment we need now :)

Last Saturday we celebrated Tyler's 30th birthday!!! (His birthday was on Jan. 22) We had a BBQ at a friend's pool with some of our closest friends. We have made some really great friends here. The party was really fun. Our favorite part was getting Tayden into the water. He absolutely loved it. He was giggling and kicking his feet like crazy! He actually stayed in the water pretty long too. (there is a video of it below) I gave Tyler some pool floats for his birthday so that he could play with Tayden. He also got an umbrella so hopefully we can start taking our little guy out to the beach.

Some of Tayden's little quirks include:
  • He often sleeps with one eye slightly open.
  • One of his ears has a point on it. His pediatrician nicknamed him Spock. I just call it his elf ear.
  • When we wave a pillow at him or blow on him it startles him and then he starts giggling. Wind does the same thing too as long as it's not too strong.
  • He is starting to be able to control his hands when he sneezes. Although they do come close, he can now stop his hands from hitting his face :)
  • He still doesn't take a binky but he has found that he like to suck on his pointer finger on his right hand.
  • We toss him into the air and he is actually starting to like it. He doesn't freak out like he used to. Don't worry...we don't toss him very high.
Tyler continues to be busy in school but he makes an effort to come home for meals and spend as much time with us as he can. He is an amazing husband and father! Thank you to all of those who helped him become the wonderful man he is today! He is trying to get an internship over the summer because he graduates in December. He is applying to places in California and Idaho. Hopefully he will get an awesome internship with some great experience.

I continue to be entertained by our little squirt. I don't know what I would do without him right now. Life would be so boring. Hope you are having a great winter.

Teeth-Haters Club

This is the day that we blessed our little man.

And here he is in his cute little outfit we borrowed from a neighbor. His coat had little tails on it...can we say adorable!

Here he is with one of his favorite cousins...Ellie Bo Bellie! She wanted to hold him so bad.

Here is Tayde-ster with his awesome Uncle Cody. Cody is leaving for his mission this week and is headed to Ghana!!! Good luck Cody! Work hard out there and you will be an amazing missionary! We wish you were here with us. (Cody went to school here at byuh with us last year before Tayden was born.) We love you!

So just as Tyler and I think that we are starting to figure Tayden out he changes on us again. Last night Tayden woke up screaming an hour and a half after he went down. Pretty sure our entire building heard him. We thought it might be because he is a sick or maybe he had some gas. We found out that he might be teething at only 3 1/2 months old! I never thought I would hate teeth so much. He has been drooling all over the place and the other day he left gum marks on his own arms from chewing on them. Luckily we were given one of those ice cube holder teething toys for Christmas. He sat there and loved having the ice on his gums. We put a tiny bit of Orajel on his gums and he calmed down within a couple of minutes and soon was fast asleep. Whew! What an adventure! Kids sure keep you on your toes (especially when they can't talk). And we are now in the teeth-haters club (pretty sure all parents have joined that club at one time or another).
Today I took him to the doctor because a couple hours after the teeth incident he woke up crying with a fever of 101.3. He has had a cough for a couple days and we just wanted to get him checked out to make sure he is okay. His pediatrician is amazing and gave us some stuff to help clear out his sinuses and nose. We have found out it is not fun at all to have a sick kid. Hearing him cough makes me sad. Hopefully tonight will be much better.

Other exciting things that have happened:
  • We had to take down the changing table that attaches to Tayden's pack and play because he is too big for it. He now weighs 16 lbs. 11 oz. This kid sure loves to eat!
  • Tayden loves looking at books so every night we read him part of a book with pictures. (thanks to everyone that gave us great books for Christmas!)
  • He has started to make the motor boat noise where you press your lips together and blow. He loves it when we do it and is just starting to copy us :) It's so cute.
  • He continues to giggle even though he is sick. It's like he is trying to pretend he doesn't feel horrible. He just tries to be a happy little boy :)
  • He loves listening to music and we play it for him quite a bit. He loves to fall asleep to Jack Johnson. We also sing to him but a few days ago I lost my voice so we have been sticking to listening to the Ipod.
  • He can roll from his front to his back now which is exciting. It's mainly because he hates being on his stomach so he pushes, kicks, and flips over. We will put a video on next time with him rolling.
We hope you are all having a great January and that somebody is enjoying snow for us. It is crazy warm and humid here!

Christmas on the mainland

Tayden chillin' with Grandma Peggy.

Tayden chillin' with his awesome cousin, Avery, and Papanua.

Hangin' with Grand-momma Miller (still not sure what she wants to be called :)

Talkin' with GPT (coolest name ever!)

The newest member of Bronco nation!

HHHmmmmm......

Gotta love this :)

We started our adventure with a red eye to California. Let's just say it was a long flight. Sleeping with a wiggling baby on your lap is difficult. We caught up on sleep later that day though at Tyler's brother's house in Palmdale, CA. His brother, Ryan, and his wife, Diana had an amazing set up for us in their guest bedroom. We had a crib, changing table, diapers, and lots of other baby stuff. It was more than we have in Hawaii Tayden. Their three kids are so cute with Tayden and loved him. Michelle (8) always wanted to hold him. We stayed at Uncle Paul and Aunt Karen's house for some of the time too. We hung out with cousin Scott most of the time and it was always a blast! Tyler spent a lot of the time working on the house and fixing it up. Tayden and I spent a lot of time in front of the fireplace. It was great to see all of the family and spend Christmas Eve and Christmas Day with them. It was so fun to let everyone meet Tayden!!! We were able to talk to my brother, Jason, on Christmas day and it was amazing! I was beginning to forget how funny he is haha. Only my parents were able to talk to Michael because he didn't have a good internet connection. Hopefully we will be able to talk to him on Mother's Day. We really miss those two but we know they are working hard and that they are in the right place.
After Christmas we headed up to Boise to see our Idaho families. We stayed in Boise, but the Millers drove down from Sandpoint to spend a few days with us and to be there for Tayden's blessing. We really appreciate them making the drive down because we found out having a baby makes traveling a little harder. We played tons of games with the family, ate delicious food, and just hung out. It was so awesome that everyone was able to see Tayden because he is changing so fast! He loves to talk and make funny noises. My sister brought a jumper that attaches to a doorway and Tayden loved hanging out in that thing. He would spin around mainly but soon he was bouncing a little bit. He now loves standing up while holding onto someone's hands for balance. Sometimes he prefers standing over sitting...silly kid :) He rolled from his front to his back for the first time!!! He was freaking out about having tummy time so he pushed with his arms and flipped onto his back. That scared him even worse but he rolled for the first time! He loved laying on the floor and looking at his cousin Avery. She is almost 8 months and they both found the other to be very interesting. We hope they are going to be close cousins...along with another boy cousin (Baby Willy) that is coming in June!!! YAY! Congrats to my sister and brother-in-law!
We are now back in the land of humidity and we can definitely tell because Tayden's skin is no longer dry and his hands and neck are constantly sweaty. Tyler is going to be busy this semester but he thinks he is going to really like some of his classes. He is trying to find an internship for this summer and he found a couple great options in Boise...so maybe we will be in Idaho for the summer!
Well, I hope that makes up for not blogging at all in December. I will try and be better :) We hope everyone is enjoying the new year!
