Making sandcastles and friends

Tayden and I have been busy going to the beach and making lots of new friends! It feels like he has more friends than I do now. :) What's even better is that they are from all over! A lot are from Asia and the kids are adorable!!!  Well at least their parents are from all over.  Most were born here but it is fun to learn their cultures and talk with their moms.  I even got invited to a cooking group with a bunch of moms.  They are between 10-15 months.
                                                                                             Saya is from Japan.

S.K. is from Hong Kong and Hagan (Hay-gan) is from Taiwan.
We love living here.  Not only do we get to meet people from all over, we get to enjoy this beautiful beach is  just a few minutes away! We have ourselves a beach boy!!!

Gotta love this BELLY!!!                                This is our beach, temple beach.

Tayden hates wearing a hat unless he can put it on himself.  Unless I can distract him and put it on him, Tayden putting it on himself is better than nothing :)

He loves his bucket and his shovels, and of course the water.

Tayd loves to read his books!

Tayden is such a happy boy!

Tayden discovered mud and tried to show me.  He liked it.   He still loves his baby pool!

This is his perfect Tayden-sized couch :)  (thank you Smarts!!!)  He plays on it a lot and lays down on it when he is tired.  I actually took a nap on it today :) It is perfect because our carpet isn't soft.

This picture is from the beginning of summer but I had to put it in here because it is sooo cute!
Like father, like son.

Tyler is still waiting to hear from the company he interviewed with in Seattle and he is still keeping in touch with a few others.  We hate the waiting game.  He is keeping up with school and work, and fixing computers.   He is pretty much an amazing husband and father!
Enough said,

Back in Paradise

We have been back on island for almost two weeks now and we are loving it! Tayden is loving exploring all over the place.  He especially loves wandering around our Tayden-proof apartment. He has found out that if he runs around the main wall in our apartment it makes a circle and he thinks it is hilarious!   He usually picks up whatever he can find, takes it to another place in the apartment, drops it, and finds something else to pick up.  It's a good thing our apartment is small and that we don't have much he can grab.  He loves to throw things into his bed...stuff ends up there a lot.  He has also walked all through our apartment complex, on campus, and today we visited the PCC.  He is getting really good at walking and he doesn't stop moving.  It is more of a speed-walk than a run now.  :)

The first time taking Tayden to the beach after getting back was great, except he is NOT used to walking in sand.  He misjudged the first time and completely face planted (below)! Except all the sand on his face didn't bother him.  He was just excited to be at the beach.  The water wasn't as warm as my parent's pool, but he adjusted quickly.  At least it isn't as cold as California water.

Tyler just started school last Monday but he is ready for this semester to be over! He is ready for graduation in December!  He hasn't had much homework yet, but he has been really busy fixing 10 computers.  He is everyone's go-to man when it comes to computers (and cars, and construction...pretty much the go-to guy for everything).  He is in contact with a couple companies to try and get a job.  So far he has two job offers in Boise, but he is talking to a couple of companies in Seattle, including Boeing and Nintendo.  Seattle is sounding promising but nothing concrete yet.

I continue to chase Tayden everywhere and I am loving it! It is so fun now that he walking.  We go all over and he is my little shadow. He is starting to be able to play with blocks and legos and I love it.

This summer was amazing but dealing with the time changes was not fun.
Here are my two tired boys :)

Tayden loves making faces in his bed.

Tayder-sized pool (thank you jenn!!!) He picks the ball up over his head and throws it in the water over and over and over...practicing his basketball skills! Ya Tayden!

We have done a good job with keeping Tayden away from certain things, but he managed to find the toilet paper the other day and he loved it.  He has already found the toilet but we are doing a much better job keeping him out of the bathroom completely!

Today Tayden and I went on an adventure to the Polynesian Cultural Center.  He loved people watching, wandering around on the paths, and watching the Tongan drummers.  He loved it so we now have another fun activity to add to our list!  ( He also loved the signs and the rocks :)

He was completely mesmerized watching the Tongan drummers. He clapped along with the Tongan girl when they did the clapping dance.  He loved it!
There was an 11 year old boy working in the Fijian village and he was so cute! Tayden wanted to play with his fan but when I went to take the picture he ran away from him. Maybe next time.  He still takes a little bit to warm up to people still.  He has pretty much warmed up to our friends here that we see all of the time, which is so nice, but it might take awhile before he is friendly with strangers.

Because we do not have a dishwasher Tayden had to find something else to climb into.  He pulled out the drawer by himself and jumped right in there with the jar of honey he stole from me.  Such a goof.  Good thing I emptied it earlier today :)
 Hope you enjoy :)

North Id!

We were able to go up to Sandpoint for a week after Tyler finished his internship and we had a great time!
Uncle McCall took Tayden for a ride on the tractor.  He loved it at first...
but once he saw his parents he was done.  Maybe next time uncle. :)

Tayders loved hanging out with the animals. He especially loved watching the chickens.

I love my boys!
 Alpaca!  We liked his hairdo.

Tayden loved all of the animals, especially Sam, the dog, and the cats because he could pet them.  Tayden would throw a ball, Sam would get it and bring it back, and then we did it over and over :) In this picture Sam caught the ball close to Tayden and it scared him.  It was pretty funny.

Tayden loved playing with cousin Camille! They were close buddies.

We spent a lot of time out on the deck enjoying the sunshine. It was beautiful! Tayden didn't quite care about  the view. He just loved pushing and riding his car all over the deck.
 View from the deck.

 Showing his good side :)
His other toy that he pushed all over the deck.

Tayden loves brushing his teeth.  Especially if it's an electric one.  We love this little guy.  He is so much fun!

July in September

We made it back to Hawaii!!! Our summer was amazing!  I'm sorry that it has been forever since I posted but we were having too much fun hanging out with family and friends.  So to catch some of you up I posted some more pictures from when we were in Boise in July and August.

Tayden loves the trampoline.

Here is Tayden playing Peek-a-boo with me over and under the table.
 "I found you!"

"Where did you go?"

"AH! There you are again!!!" :)

Tayden got lots of lovin' in Idaho!

Here is his first haircut! Well it was more like a trim to prevent him from having a mullet.  He was easily entertained by my dad's vibrating toothbrush :) thanks dad!

His first word was "ball!" I wonder why?

Momma's boy!
One day while sitting on the counter he reached over and took a huge bite out of a nectarine followed up by a huge bite out of a plum.. This kiddo can ALWAYS eat!

He sleeps on a pillow at night and loves it.  Normally he is on his stomach with his bum straight up in the air :) Pillows are basically his kryptonite.

This is Papanua's favorite way to hold Taters.

Tayd is a very curious little guy and loves to pull lids off of things...
and put them back on!

While in Boise we had an early first birthday for him

at which he had absolutely no idea what to do with the cake.  He has learned not to play with his food and all of a sudden we want him to destroy the cake...ya it didn't happen.
So Tyler helped him out,
but even after that...he still wan't too sure. :)

So I had to throw these up here because I'm proud of them.  This was my summer crafting project.  I painted all of these wooden dolls for fun.  The boys above are mainly super heroes and below are princesses and fairies! They are for our kids to play with in the future.

GMA and GPA-this one is for you.  You gave Tayden this outfit and it sooooo cute, but it is veeeeerrrrry white.  Tayden and white don't get along very well but I wanted you to see him in it....so here you go :)

This was way back when Tayden needed the assistance of his trusty lion.  My dad loved taking Tayden on an adventure out to the mailbox to get the mail.

So here ends our adventure in Boise but there is more.  I will post on our trip to Sandpoint hopefully in the next couple of days.  Hope you all had a great summer!
