Our blue-eyed boy

So life continues to be great here in the islands.  We go on a walk/run every morning, play outside in the afternoon, and enjoy the beach a couple times a week.  Tyler didn't have school on Monday because it was a Hawaiian holiday...Thank you Prince Kuhio! We all went to the beach and Tayden actually played in the water for a while.  He is starting to like it more and more.  While playing in the sand he only got one handful of sand.  He loves the beach.
So I took Tayden to go see the volleyball girls I coached last year.  They ran up to me and all gave me the biggest hugs while yelling "coach Lauren!"  I felt so loved but soon Tayden took all of the attention.  They all fell in love with him! They loved his gorgeous blue eyes ( They are all Polynesian so they have brown, which I think are gorgeous) his blond hair, and his chubby legs.  He smiled at all of them and giggled as he was passed around from one girl to the next.  All of the girls volunteered to babysit :)  They are the greatest girls and I miss coaching them.  It was a fun experience.

So peaceful :)

He loves playing with the water while the tub is filling up.  He tries to grab it. I wonder how long it will take him to figure it out. :)

This is his water-proof book...which is more like slobber-proof.

He isn't crawling yet but just for fun we put his knees under him.  He loved it but eventually got tired and fell over.  He keeps getting stronger every day but we don't need to baby-proof all of the apartment quite yet.

Have a wonderful Aloha Friday!

a day at the beach...and the pool

Tyler didn't have school today and the sun was beautiful, so we had to make today a beach day! After sitting in the sand for no more than a minute a wave snuck up on us scared Tayden.  We grabbed him so he didn't go under, but it came pretty high and freaked him out. We played in the dry sand for a little bit but the ocean was chilly so we headed to the pool.  He loved it! We are just glad he isn't afraid of all water because of that incident.
I forgot to mention a long time ago that he has earned the nick-name "tongue-den" for obvious reasons...he loves his tongue!

A messy life is a great life!

This was the sweet potato disaster of March 18th, 2012.  Sweet potato got all over! In his eye lashes, neck pit, arm pits, diaper...everything except for his toes because they were under the tray.  It took a bit to clean him up but we had a blast!  It was part his fault, and part mine. We are both getting better at this I guess :)

Today was a day full of discoveries for Tayden.  It was the first time he really enjoyed being at the beach. Now that he can sit up and grab things he absolutely loved playing in the sand and water! He discovered many new things including...

his swim trunks (without a diaper underneath),

a thick stick,

a little stick,

and sand!!!!

(and of course the camera).

We have ourselves a beach bum!  He loved the sand so much! We played in it until he was exhausted. It ended up everywhere! He got it on his face because a wave came close and he got so excited he fell over (below).  Seriously though...sand was everywhere!!! Arm pits, bum crack, ears, nose, leg creases, toes. Pretty much everywhere except for his eyes, which I am very glad about!   He didn't like the cold shower at the beach so we waited until after his nap to get it all off of him.

You can almost see how hard his mind is working, trying to figure out what this sand stuff is.

Our cute little monkey...exhausted after a day of playing in the sand...actually it was more like an hour and a half :)  he fell asleep before I even crossed the road right next to the beach to go home.

This is his new inexpensive toy...the box.  We got it on a trip to costco...so i guess the box was actually very expensive. haha
This one is just funny.  While playing in his box he tipped over and couldn't figure how to get up or roll.

Hope you enjoy our many pics,

Either Tayden's head is shrinking...or his body is GROWING!!!

So I don't think you can tell, but eating is actually not as messy these days!

Our roly poly got stuck on a table leg. He rolls all over the place, spins around, and soon we will have to Tayden-proof the house.

The boys hanging out before church.

This is how Tayden eats...on the floor.

He started out with his head on the right side and feet on the left. Apparently he was his friend monkey to have lots of room too. :)

We love cereal!                     First experience with squash...he still makes faces when he eats it.

He loves exploring mouths so we make sure his fingernails are always short or his explorations can be painful for us.

These pj's are getting a little small over that big belly :)

This just cracks me up. We walk by it every morning on our walk.  It is a locked bike tire...the rest of the bike was stolen.  We are just glad it wasn't ours.

We took Tayden to the PCC...We played the stick game and listened to the Samoan presentation.  It is still as funny as the first time we heard it.

I will write more later.  I just wanted to post these pics before they are old news :)

Photo dump!

We (usually just I) take so many pictures! So I tried to get some of the best ones without leaving any out.  ENJOY!
This is how Tyler attempted to feed Tayden. Needless to say that it didn't last too long.

I don't think I ever said that Tayden can sit...Tayden can sit! The pillow is there because sometimes he gets so excited he  falls over. Silly kid.

We went and hiked to the Maka pu'u lighthouse on the south shore.  The coolest thing was that we saw whales! We would have taken pictures but they were so far away.  We saw about 8 of them come out of the water.  Sometimes it was just a fin and other times their upper body would come out of the water or "breach." I can now cross it off of my bucket list.  It was amazing!

Our little Tator Tot can FLY!!! And he absolutely loves it!

The walk to the lighthouse wore Tayden out :)

We decided he has officially outgrown this :)

He was sitting up and I went into the other room to grab something. When I came back out this is what I found. :) Good thing the pillow was there.

He loves his books!

This is his new booster seat! He was too big for his bumbo/bimbo chair.  He loves this one.  We don't really have a place to feed him so we sit on the floor...island style :)

This was one of the days it rained and rained and rained.  We were both so tired of being inside so we sat right outside our door and enjoyed the storm while staying dry.

Tayden has recently earned the new nicknames: Sprinkler (he spits all the time) and bulldog/bullpup (because of those chubby cheeks.)

Don't know what he is thinking about but he is confused about something. Maybe I looked funny or something.

This is his "I'm so cool" pose. Don't know where he got it but we love it!

Gotta love the chubby, baby food covered face!

He hit the spoon while I was feeding him and it landed right on nose. He thought it was hilarious!

We love Nike :)

Riding the carousel at the mall on a rainy day.  We went with our amazing friends, the Smarts.  We watched their two kids while they went glow in the dark mini-golfing and then they watched Tayden while we went.  It was an awesome was to do date night!

Just wanted to share some of our fun times with you.  Hope you like the pics as much as we do!
